We are looking for a vigilant Uniformed Security Officer that will provide robust security integrity to the Thatcham Distribution site (both internally and externally), prevent and detect offences against staff, visitors and contractors and safeguard the company’s property, merchandise, monies and assets.

About The Role 

Along with guarding the Thatcham Distribution Centre, you will be using Excel and Word documents routinely and inputting information consistently as part of your duties using Microsoft Teams. The setting up and issuing of Security ID passes, using a computer and camera system is also a consistent feature of your daily duties.

This role involves daily interactions with Fire & Security systems, for which the Security Team are responsible, identifying the source of any activations and organising a speedy response in order to ensure the smooth operation of the Distribution Centre.

The role necessitates a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and may include working at other company premises. This will include weekends, night work, bank holidays or public holidays as normal days of work. Additionally, extra hours and/or days of work maybe required and/or changed by the department, but with adequate notice (typically 48 hours) and therefore, a flexible approach is needed.

About You 

Our ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in conflict management and resolution techniques. You will require a high standard of personal appearance and a level of health and fitness that enables you to carry out the full duties associated with this position, which may include dealing with confrontational situations, as well as standing or patrolling for long periods of time.

This role requires mental resilience to occupational hazards like abusive and threatening behaviour, dealing with confrontation and pressures. A positive approach to engaging with fellow colleagues, visitors, contractors and stakeholders is key within this role.
