WWF Earth Hour 2025
At Harrods, we were proud to take part in WWF Earth Hour on March 22nd, reinforcing our commitment to building a more sustainable future. This year’s theme, “Create the Biggest Hour for Earth,” inspired us to challenge our Harrods colleagues to share how they spent their hour and we’re excited to see the impact they’ve made.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, we’ve continued to improve how we operate our iconic Knightsbridge store and Group operations. As highlighted in our first sustainability report published last year, we’ve made significant progress in reducing energy consumption. Key initiatives include upgrading our boilers and transitioning to LED and light-sensor-based lighting systems across the shop floor, external façade, and adjoining offices with 80% of lights in our main store now powered by energy-efficient LEDs.
Our efforts extend beyond Knightsbridge. Across our wider estate, we transitioned our fleet to electric and biofuel sources in 2022, and in 2023, we installed solar panels to generate on-site renewable energy at our Thames Valley Distribution Centre.
