We are looking for a Data Architect to join our IT team here at Harrods. You will be responsible for capturing the current state and defining the future state  data and integration architecture for Harrods

About The Role

As the Data Architect you will lead the solution design for projects with a heavy data emphasis. This will include the delivery of solution options and high-level solution design, ensuring they are well documented, adhere to Harrods’ design principles and have been through appropriate governance

You will also;

  • Deliver and maintain high level data architecture documentation as part of maintaining the overall IT Architecture landscape
  • Review third-party products and keep abreast of market developments; contribute to preparation of Requests for Proposal, evaluation and selection of tenders
  • Directly input to, or oversee, the definition of new data models, data migration activities, and data quality solutions
  • Identify opportunities to improve access to information through more timely, accurate and complete data and work with the Enterprise Architect to secure buy-in to their implementation

About You

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, they need to be able to deep-dive into operational topics such as data modelling, data migration, data governance and data quality best practices to support our continually evolving applications landscape, including understanding and optimising integration services.

It is important that you have a strong understanding of a Retail or similar B2C operating model as well as how data, AI and Analytics can be leveraged to optimise business insight and operational performance.

You will also have the following

  • Background in architecture or solution architecture
  • Ability to influence and persuade at all levels
  • Clear communication levels both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail
