Our incredible Colleague Experience team is looking for a Talent Development Manager to take the helm of our key internal management development programmes. This role is varied – a combination of programme management and delivery. If you’re energised by coaching, facilitating learning and working in a hands-on way with colleagues, this is the role for you.

Our Colleague Experience team plays a pivotal role in creating a culture of which we are all proud.  The team are responsible for a number of different workstreams including Colleague Engagement and Talent, utilising listening initiatives to create first-class development programmes.   

 

About the Role

The Talent Development Manager is someone who has a very real impact on our culture by helping develop our future managers and business leaders, through our industry-leading Harrods Management Programme and Retail Management Programme.  What’s unique about this role is the opportunity to work with colleagues from all levels across the business, supporting them through defining moments in their careers. This is an opportunity to relook at how we develop our managers and partner closely with the business to support our top and emerging talent.  You will be a champion of talent programmes internally, proactively partnering with key stakeholders (e.g. Business Partners, Business Leaders) to discuss needs, share reporting and insights.

Act as a subject matter expert on management and leadership, your role will be broken down into the following areas:

Leading programmes -

  • Take full ownership of the scoping, design and delivery of talent programmes, keen on using behavioural science.
  • Facilitate learning and/or working sessions to a variety of audiences, including senior managers.
  • Coach and mentor programme delegates.
  • Conduct programme evaluation and create robust reporting to demonstrate impact.

Supporting talent measurement and management -

  • Lead strategic discussions around talent management (e.g., succession planning, future skills analysis)
  • Support the delivery of the annual talent review process - Workday testing, manager briefings, calibration meeting support, reporting.
  • Use talent data to make fair and informed decisions in regard to talent interventions.
  • Champion and facilitate internal mobility through career coaching, creating robust learning proposals and project plans.
  • Work directly with the business to identify learning needs for top talent.
  • Create robust learning proposals and project plans.
  • Select and use psychometrics and development tools such as strengths based assessments.

About You

This role is highly specialised, you will be someone who understands adult learning, management development and can help others challenge their thinking and change behaviours. You have a keen interest in behavioural science, and have demonstrable experience of facilitating learning & training as well as leading strategic discussions. You will have experience in scoping, designing, and delivering projects – the end to end design and delivery of programmes. 

You will be a driven manager who stays on top of industry trends, taking insights from internal data and external research, to inform best practice at Harrods. You will ideally, but not essentially, have a formal coaching qualification and prior certification in tools such as Hogan, NEO-PI.  You will be used to management budgets and can work independently with this.

You will also:

  • Demonstrate a passion for helping people to learn, grow and develop.
  • Have expert understanding of adult learning design principles and best practices.
  • Have experience in digital platform functionality, capability and approach (e.g. Workday).
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management and proven experience building effective relationships across a wide network.
