Here at Harrods, we currently house more celebrity chefs, and exclusive dining brands than any other location in the UK. You will be joining a passionate, supportive, and successful dining team, all within our iconic Knightsbridge store. We're looking for a Sous Chef who loves being at the heart of the action to join one of our exciting and exclusive new restaurant openings. 

About the Role


As a Sous Chef for our high profile new opening, you'll be responsible for supporting in the training of our new brigade, as well as managing the day to day operations of the kitchen which will include effective storage and ordering of food stock while planning production levels to minimise wastage and ensure stock checks are completed in a timely manner. By leading your team from the front and assisting the Head Chef in all managerial duties, you’ll be responsible for running the pass and jumping in on any of the sections where needed. 

Additionally, you’ll monitor all goods received from internal and external vendors and production to ensure that quality standards are met. You’ll also manage the day-to-day administration ensuring compliance to internal systems including SAP. By adhering to all Health & Safety regulations and procedures, you’ll set a high standard of food safety in the daily operations.

About You


You’ll have a strong track record of hospitality experience, preferably within a high volume and/or branded restaurant environment as a Sous Chef or above. As this position will be based within a highly anticipated, exclusive new restaurant concept, you’ll need to be able to keep a cool head under pressure, have great time management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties.


You’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills and a great attention to detail, which will be evident through paperwork completed, organisation of department and sufficient stock levels. You’ll be able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills by coaching, inspiring and motivating the team. By reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll build effective relationships with support functions including Food Halls, Restaurants, Food Safety, Distribution, and HR. Having good PC literacy is a must (Word, Excel and preferably SAP).

  • Competitive annual salary of up to £47,000 (made up of a generous base salary plus service charge)*
