We are currently looking for a Senior Retail Manager to be a people leader of our exceptional team of Retail Managers in our Furniture Division. This opportunity is a Fixed Term Contract, running until the end of February 2025.

Our third-floor Furniture department is home to prestigious brands and renowned for the unparalleled level of expertise within the team. Passionate about furniture, with a keen eye for detail and an affinity for systems and processes, the Senior Retail Manager will lead three Retail Managers to ensure their teams deliver both exceptional commercial performance and a truly excellent customer experience.

As we celebrate this momentous anniversary year, now more than ever, it’s an exciting time to join the Harrods Team. Whether you’re a recent school, college or university leaver, or you’re looking to restart your career in an exciting new field, at Harrods we firmly believe in offering exciting career opportunities.

About the Role

Our people have to be the most attentive, most knowledgeable, most customer focussed, and the most industry and product aware of any other luxury retailer in the world. That’s how we create our point of difference. As a critical leadership role in the Division, the responsibility of the Senior Retail Manager is to enable both the team of Retail Managers and team of Sales Associates to deliver their very best work.

The Senior Retail Manager will take the Divisional plan for the area, set a clear vision and build, guide and support a credible team of experts to deliver on that vision – be that from a customer, colleague, or trade perspective. The Senior Retail Manager will work closely with the Divisional General Retail Manager and wider General Retail Management network on people planning, will deliver new initiatives, processes and procedures, and be accountable for monitoring their own area of responsibility in respect of both financial objectives and NPS/ENPS – taking corrective action or understanding opportunities to improve where necessary.

About You

You will be at ease with building effective relationships with key stakeholders across Retail, Buying, Visual Merchandising and Operational teams to cut through noise, remove ambiguity and ensure your people are able to provide exceptional service always.

You’ll also be:

  • Experienced at building and nurturing effective relationships across internal functions and brand partners to be able to influence and take corrective action in the right way.
  • Skilled at performance coaching, you get a kick out of helping others develop and succeed – either successfully in your Division or where needed laterally into a role that’s a better fit.
  • Commercially astute. We’re a business built on sales performance. This role is integral to delivering stretching and exciting sales growth.
  • Resilient, tenacious and genuinely open to development feedback. Continually adapting your style to get the best outcomes for your people, customers and for the business.
  • Driven by data in your decision-making. Your style is to embrace all data and insight as you have the ability and confidence to use this to inform relevant actions.
