Here at Harrods, we currently house more celebrity chefs, and exclusive dining brands than any other location in the UK. And we are proud to announce this wonderful opportunity to join our new Sushi restaurant, in partnership with 3 Michelin starred chef, Masayoshi Takayama of Masa, NYC. You will be joining a passionate, supportive, and award-winning Michelin standard dining team, all within our iconic Knightsbridge store.

About The Role

You’ll work as part of the Masa restaurant Team, right in the centre of our iconic Dining Hall. You'll work within a guest-facing kitchen to create mesmerising sushi and Japanese dishes to wow and delight the diners. You don't necessarily have to have experience with sushi but you'll need to have the passion and drive to learn from one of the best in world.

We’re currently looking for:

  • Senior Sushi Chef (Senior CDP level)

In return you’ll receive competitive rates of pay + service charge, flexible working patterns (with minimal late nights) on a set contract with overtime paid at an additional rate, excellent benefits package, including a company pension, up to 33 days off (including Bank Holidays), your birthday off, up to 33% in-store discount (including across our food hall and restaurants) and a travel season ticket loan.

About You

You’ll have a strong track record of time spent within a professional kitchen, preferably within a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel environment. You'll be confident working in a guest-facing kitchen environment as you'll be expected to interact with our diners to share your knowledge and expertise. Experience in Japanese cuisine isn't absolutely essential, but you'll need to be passionate and want to learn more. You’ll have great time-management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties. You’ll have great communication skills and a good attention to detail, which will be evident through paperwork completed, organisation of department and sufficient stock levels.

Here are the other qualities that make you so special:

  • A quick learner who thinks on their feet and likes being part of a team.
  • Ambitious, hardworking and reliable
  • A cool head when the heat is on
