Nights Manager- Hospitality Cleaning Operations

Our Facilities team is now looking for a Hospitality Cleaning Manager to join us on the night shift, supporting our world-famous Knightsbridge store. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our 22 restaurants are maintained to the highest standards, even while the city sleeps. 

About the Role 

In this role, you will lead and support the cleaning team overnight, you will play a crucial part in maintaining food safety and hygiene across our kitchens and restaurants, upholding the outstanding standards that make Harrods unique and ensuring that all cleaning and hygiene operations are delivered to an exceptional standard.

You will directly line manage two Assistant Managers and oversee a team 55 made up of Supervisors and Operatives. You will have a focus on leading projects and initiatives which will create long-term solutions to challenges and data you review on the department, you will be liaising with different stakeholders across the business to drive forward operational improvements and solutions from behavioural to systems to equipment and much more.
 
With this night-based role your team have the unique opportunity to support whilst our customers are not in the store. A big part of this is maintaining our 22 in store restaurants, ensuring everything is deep cleaned and holding Food Safety + Health and Safety standards at the absolute forefront and ensuring we can be proud to open those restaurants to our customers the next morning. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

• Overseeing night-time cleaning and hygiene operations, with a strong focus on food safety 
• Conducting regular safety inspections and taking immediate action on any issues 
• Managing and developing your team, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews 
• Coordinating shift rotas and ensuring efficient colleague allocation 
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support seamless operations 
• Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and data protection policies

This role is working 5 days over 7 on a shift pattern, our night shift is 8pm - 5am. 

Please note you will also need to work every 1 in 3 weekends on a day shift as part of the Management rota. 

About You 

You will be a confident and proactive leader with a strong background in operations or facilities management within a complex or high-profile environment. Your ability to lead a team, drive high standards and maintain a positive working culture will be key to your success. 

You will also have: 

• Ideally experience working in a food production environment 
• You will have a strategic focus to drive improvement and increase efficiencies
• Proven experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues 
• Strong organisational and time management skills 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
• A proactive approach with the ability to make decisions under pressure 
• A strong knowledge on food safety having worked in a food environment 
• Good PC literacy, including Word and Excel
