Executive Chef - Shanghai

Here at Harrods, we currently house more celebrity chefs, exclusive dining brands and unique food halls than any other location in the UK, and we’ve now expanded internationally to open a world class Tea Rooms in Shanghai, China.
Please note this this opportunity is for an Executive Chef to relocate to Shanghai and join their growing team overseas.

About the Role

In this role you will be directly responsible for the quality and consistency of the food offering across our restaurants at Cha House, Shanghai, ensuring that operationally we are delivering world class experiences by a team who are well trained and motivated to want to excel. They will set the standard of work for areas like training, supply, ingredients, food quality and working environment for the chef population in restaurants.
You will have direct authority over our Harrods ran operations but still be expected to work hand in hand with the concessions of our business to ensure Harrods practises are being followed, quality ingredients are being used and the output of quality food is being achieved.

About You

You’ll have a strong track record of hospitality experience working as an Executive Chef within a multi-outlet operation, ideally with time spent in a similar high-end hospitality environment such as 5* hotels or luxury restaurant groups. Having international experience would be advantageous and you must be willing to relocate to Shanghai if successful. 
In addition, you’ll have great time-management skills, experience working with large kitchen teams and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties. You’ll have exceptional communicational and interpersonal skills as you will be interacting with other business areas in your day to day. The ability to multi-task and flex to changing priorities, as well as a strong work ethic and an unwavering commitment to Harrods values is a must. Good PC literacy is also required.
