Our Childrenswear Buying team are now looking for an Assistant Buyer to join them here at Harrods on a permanent basis.

This position will offer you a unique chance to contribute to the growth and success of our Childrenswear category while also developing your skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

About the Role

Working throughout the buying cycle across all channels, you’ll support your Buyer by monitoring sales performance and contributing to the development of the buying strategy. You’ll also be involved in proposing and executing trading actions in order to improve sales performance and reduce risk to the business.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Providing vendors with sell through reports to provide feedback on performance.
  • Prepare agendas and materials for brand meetings and buying appointments.
  • Carry out regular range reviews to ensure a strong assortment of product.
  • Weekly sales analysis and put together action plans on how to drive trade across both store & online.
  • Support the Buyer in planning and selecting product according to customer and market trends.

About You

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate an organised and systematic approach to getting things done. You are able to handle sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality, always operating with trust and integrity in everything you do.

You will also have:

  • Strong PC literacy, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability and willingness to multi-task.
  • Effective prioritisation skills and ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proactive and solutions based thinking.
