Technical Assistant

Join Harrod’s Technical team as a Technical Assistant, supporting the delivery of safe, high‑quality food products across our Fresh department.

About the Role

As a Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting day‑to‑day operations that uphold product quality, safety, and compliance. Working closely with Food Technologists and the wider Technical team, you will help maintain accurate product data, support supplier onboarding, manage documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement across all technical processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting supplier set‑up, onboarding and completion of required data across technical systems.
• Assisting with product specification completion and ensuring accurate legal product information is available for retail teams.
• Coordinating complaints, benchmarking quality results, and contributing to investigations and action plans.
• Logging, trending, and reporting compliance data across weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPIs.
• Monitoring critical paths, maintaining technical documentation, and supporting adherence to food safety and technical regulatory requirements.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

About You

You will be highly organised, detail‑driven, and motivated by maintaining exceptional standards of food quality and safety. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and compliance in everything you do. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, communicating confidently with internal teams, suppliers, and third‑party partners. With a proactive approach to problem‑solving, you will support the team’s continuous improvement agenda and contribute to strong product governance.

You will bring:

• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work with suppliers, stakeholders and external partners.
• Good competency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.
