Dispatch Operative (Nights)

Our Distribution team are now looking for a Dispatch Operative to support the Nights Dispatch department in our Knightsbridge store.

As a Harrods’ Dispatch team, our aim is to ensure  that all customer orders in the department are fulfilled, packed, transported and dispatched on time and in the best quality to meet our required SLA’s (locally and internationally) and meet customer expectations the Harrods way.

About The Role

Our Dispatch Night Operatives play an integral role in the delivery of day-to-day operations for our dispatch department, where we thrive together in bringing moments of magic to our customers and our team.

This position works a Night Shift 11pm-7am, working 5 days out of 7. This position works a Night Shift 11pm-7am , predominately Monday to Friday however weekend work can be expected over our busy periods.

About You

You will have great attention to detail as you will be checking key details of luxury orders and products on a day to day basis. You will be hard working, quick thinking and have the ability to take initiative. You will be a valuable team player who thrives on getting the job done do a high Harrods standard. You will have great timekeeping ability with flexibility to support the team across multiple functions with the team end goal in mind.

Day-to-Day Tasks in the role will include the following:

• Packing customer orders.
  • Checking if all items are in perfect condition.
  • Checking if all items and quantities are matching the docket (receipt).
  • Packing all items safely for transit with presentation expected from Harrods.
  • Ensuring GDPR rules are followed.
  • Manual handling of different types of orders.

• Export processing customer orders.
  • Checking customs rules for order destination and if all items are compliant (information available on internal system)
  • Entering required information for each item to the system
  • Generating shipping documentation.
  • Ensuring GDPR rules are followed.
  • Manual handling – weighting and palletising orders. Taking pallets to Receiving Bank with manual or electric pallet truck.

• Assisting with Harrods Van deliveries.
  • Routing (planning) local deliveries for Harrods drivers
  • Ensuring GDPR rules are followed.
  • Manual handling:  sorting these deliveries in preparation for dispatch

• Department housekeeping.
  • Keeping workstations tidy and organised.
  • Keeping department tidy and slips and trips free.
  • Following company sustainability and recycling rules.
• Following Fire and Health & Safety rules.
