Our Childrenswear team are now looking for a passionate and dynamic Buyer to drive the success of their department across multiple channels, including our Harrods store & online.

About the Role 

In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing the brand and product strategy within the Childrenswear department. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including suppliers, merchandising teams, and marketing, to ensure our product offering remains market-leading and commercially successful.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute the buying strategy in line with business goals.
  • Plan and select product ranges based on customer demand, market trends, and sales performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with concession partners to ensure alignment with our strategy.
  • Attend buying appointments and industry trade fairs to source exclusive and innovative products.
  • Negotiate trading terms, including pricing, marketing contributions, and exclusivity agreements.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with brand partners and take necessary actions to drive performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing, PR, and social media teams to maximise brand exposure.
  • Work closely with Visual Merchandising to ensure an engaging and trend-driven in-store experience.
  • Monitor sales performance, stock levels, and market trends, adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Lead and develop an Assistant Buyer to support department goals.

About You 

You will be a highly skilled professional with strong numerical and analytical abilities to drive data-driven decision-making. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively multitasking and adapting to shifting priorities. With proven experience in managing teams and developing talent, you’ll possess exceptional leadership and mentoring skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software is essential to analyse data, generate insights, and optimize processes.

You will also have:

  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in managing teams and developing talent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
