  • Responsible undertaking works as instructed by the Plumbing Principal in respect to the operation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems within the Knightsbridge store, including all pipework systems (excluding refrigeration and cooling towers), associated pumps, strainers, pressurisation units, heat exchangers, valves, storage tanks, public health and rain water systems, sump pumps, sprinkler / hydrant systems, sanitary-ware and associated fittings.
  • As instructed, maintain water treatment / conditioning to LTHW and Chilled water systems
  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance either: directly, or through specialist contractors; and complete associated administration.
  • Prioritise allocated workload and resources as appropriate to any risk to the business operation, especially where concurrent problems occur.
  • Undertake small works when called upon to decommission or install replacement equipment to a high calibre workmanship.
  • Possess any necessary knowledge of legislation and ensure compliance.
  • Assist colleagues on other mechanical duties as required by the Engineering department.
  • React to emergencies when called upon
  • Escalate any problems which cannot be resolved, or where upgrades are recommended to the Plumbing Principle.
  • Working a 4 nights On 4 nights off rolling Rota.

Other

  • Suitably qualified to a minimum C&G level or relevant experience, formally apprenticeship trained and:
  • Possess technical knowledge and experience of general mechanical works, pipefitting & plumbing.
  • Formally trained in the control and management of Legionella.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Plumbing industry.
  • Fully conversant with necessary BS and relevant regulations.
  • Confident, self-motivated, keen and eager to learn.
  • Able to work on own initiative and cope with peer pressure.
  • Quick response to faults & problem solving.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
  • Effective communicator with all levels of personnel.
  • Possess technical knowledge and experience in all types of plumbing and mechanical pipework systems.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours where necessary.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

  • Maintain all PPM’s and reactive faults to a high standard ensuring these are completed on time.
