About the Role
The Chef de Rang role reports into the supervisor and Assistant Manager. You will have accountability of areas within the Georgian restaurant ensuring it’s smooth running and going above and beyond for everyone who attends. You’ll be responsible for helping the business and the team in a manner that will ensure that all parties’ expected standards are maintained at all times.

The role will have a huge focus on operational excellence by delivering a world class restaurant experience.  

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Working with the Supervisors and Restaurant Management team to train and develop the waiting team, drive sales and service excellence.
  • Setting-up and clearing tables prior to, during and after service, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained.
  • Ensure your station and the restaurant runs smoothly as well as maintaining Harrods` high standards of quality, service and maximising productivity.
  • Being able to convey the Georgian story to customers throughout the dining experience.
  • Ensuring opening and closing checklists are adhered to. Revise and update the checklists with the Supervisors to ensure they are relevant and  standards are always at the highest level.
  • Having good attention to detail which will be evident through floor mis-en-place, checklists and sufficient stock level.

About You  

You are an excellent communicator and you can motivate your colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the operation maintaining company standards at all times.

You have excellent organisational skills, customer service focused and able to work at pace whilst remaining calm and self-assured at all times.    

You will also have worked in a senior waiter/waitress position previously, understanding the level of service that is expected in a fine dining environment.

As well as have a comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant menu and allergens as well as a good knowledge of any specials promotions. Able to answer guest queries quickly, knowledgeably and in a discreet manner in line with the highest standards.
